This week I purchased the spiral-bound softcover assuming that it would have the same content as the hardback spiral-bound. Unfortunately there is a drastic difference between the content of the spiral-bound softcover and the spiral-bound hardcover. The difference is around pages missing. The spiral-bound softcover does not include Access, and perhaps other topics too.
I haven't looked closely. Pearson seems to have lost interest in this series. I have attempted contacting them for help with specific assignments, and they did not respond. Top reviews from other countries. My very positive experience with various IT-related "for Dummies", lead me to expect a lot from a pages "books-in-1" Office for Dummies. Certainly as it has a separate "book" about "Working with Charts and Graphics".
A topic like "how to set the scale of the vertical Y-axis" appeas to me quite basic. Apparantly I should have realised it is written mainly for beginners. Others who are looking for just a bit more than very basic stuff could probably do better with a Google search and find the anwers in Microsoft's help pages.

Overall I definitely like this textbook. It's easy to follow, and the online resources are helpful. There are some errors in the book. On very rare occasions a step in assignment does not match the student data files.
